Disney Researchers Use Physics and 3D Printing to Create Impossible Spinning Objects

This allowed them to 3D print asymmetrical shaped tops, that spin despite their odd, off center shapes...

Checkout Disneys research on 3D printing. You can now convert any shape into a spinning toy. It does not have to be a symmetrical object. They have done this by using material of 2 different density. By changing where the denser material goes, they could get the object to rotate stably around an axis of their choice. Check the article to know more.
