Checkout Disneys research on 3D printing. You can now convert any shape into a spinning toy. It does not have to be a symmetrical object. They have done this by using material of 2 different density. By changing where the denser material goes, they could get the object to rotate stably around an axis of their choice. Check the article to know more.
