Show off (with humility) - Show others what you build. This can happen at personal or exhibition levels or through magazines and the internet. Show it to as many people as you can. On the one hand it gives you confidence towards your build and helps you connect with others. But the more important reason to do this is to receive "feedback". Designing in solitude is only designing for yourself and being ignorant of what others need. It would be to your benefit to get genuine feedback from people and iterate on your prototypes accordingly.
