Safety for the visually impaired
posted 1 day, 22 hours ago by Shrreya Bhatachaarya on Zooky (Enabling Toys)

We have observed from our survey at a school for blind children that even partially blind people do not venture out alone in new places because they feel unsafe. However, they all have career aspirations which require them to travel around. That calls for a solution to ensure their security.

posted 1 day, 23 hours ago by aditya bhatnagar on Flook (Enabling Toys)

While doing this had Joe Cockers version of " With a little help from my friends" humming in my mind: Paraphrased below as sung by a visually impaired person

Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song and I shall try not to sing out of tune
What do you do when your love is away
Nothing I can do No Way No way,
Do you believe in love at first sight,
I am certain it happens all the time ( but not for me, No never for me)
What do you feel at the end of day
I feel nothing and no memories for me
But I get by with a little help from my Friends in E toys
Ohh I get by with a liitle help from the Braille heat imager..

Designing the case for the setup
posted 2 days, 13 hours ago by Shantam Gupta on Smart handshake (Sensors Across Scales)

The design of the case should be aesthetically appeasing as well as compact. We plan to fit the tah and the accelerometer on the board inside the case and then fit the case on the paperband (used as a strap of the band).
A simple design can work better than a quirky one. The design should encapsulate the tah and the peripheral components without leaving much space than necessary. The dimensions of the case are made with consideration to the tolerances ( upper limit dimensions to be on the safer sides as it is planned ,as of now, to 3-D Print it)

Horizontal cut on Zipper
posted 4 days, 8 hours ago by Shubham Agarwal on Steal this bag (Sensors Across Scales)

What if thief cuts the zip along a horizontal line? Something to worry about!!
Solution: A solid/semi-solid sub-layer beneath the zipper is put. The layer helps conductive thread to be in contact and the circuit is complete. Getting an unauthorized access to the bag breaks the circuit(thread) and the alert thing gets activated. If authorized access then no alert. Solved.

SQL to vcf
posted 4 days, 11 hours ago by Mohit Chawla on Smart handshake (Sensors Across Scales)

The data transferred by the server to the mobile phone must be in vcf form itself or there must be some other manipulation in the app to conver it to a buisness card that is ready to be added to the phone book. A crazy trcick for such manipulation will be to play with HTML elements and this will save a hell lot of time in transferring the data

Wireless transfer constraints
